Occupied Jerusalem - The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has renewed confirmation that it would never surrender its weapons as long as Israeli occupation remained on Palestinians lands.

Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk, the deputy political bureau chief of Hamas, told the London-based Ashark Al-Awsat newspaper in an interview published on 18/8 that liberation of Gaza was not the end of the line.

He said that Gaza was not Palestine and the West Bank and Jerusalem were still reeling under the Israeli occupation.

"We will not stop resistance as long as occupation persists," the Hamas leader affirmed, adding that Gaza was only a small part of Palestine.

He stressed that resistance weapons were legitimate and should not be seized, and elaborated that the PA should protect the resistance weapon rather than confiscate it.

Hamas would not allow Palestinian feudal fighting, Abu Mazrouk said, adding that Palestinian blood was a red line.

The Hamas leader said that his Movement had no reservations over dialogue with any country except the "Zionist enemy", and highlighted that anyone bypassing Hamas would not be able to play an effective role in finding a lasting peace in the region.

Abu Marzouk further disclosed that Hamas asked the Egyptian authorities to allow it open an office in Cairo but no reply was so far received, noting that contacts were underway between the two parties over that issue.
